We stand on the brink of a technological revolution that will fundamentally alter the way we live, work, and relate to one another, the 4th Stage of the Industrial Revolution. In its scale, scope, and complexity, the transformation will be unlike anything humankind has experienced before. The need to find new ways to interact with education and innovation will be the determining fact to our continued growth.

The Tesla Foundation has created and is deploying the Tesla List. A cutting edge software that utilizes artificial intelligence to empower the individual. An entirely new data set for STEAM talent and the soft skills attributes needed for the 21st Century. From education to collaborating on innovation with likeminded teams on the other side of the country, talented women and underserved communities won’t be left behind.
The Tesla List is populated by the data collected from the participants in the Tesla 21st Century Education Modules, education partners, and workforce development partners. The results are computed by Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Relational Data Predictive Modeling to create opportunities matching STEAM talent and 21st Century soft skills attributes. This assures the reach and productivity of the Tesla List software is maximized to its full potential continually for the users, and that the iterative cycles needed in technology to stay “current” are always met.

The Tesla List and the Tesla 21st Century Education Modules have two very clear directives: the first is to provide STEAM talent with opportunity regardless of sex, race, or socio-economic circumstances. The second is to match talent to higher education, jobs, and early stage investors for innovation projects. This example of a “Farm System” for talent is very successful in sports and can be adopted by applying Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Computing to STEAM talent – Think “Money Ball for Nerds!”
As the Tesla Foundation continues to deploy and work with partners, the Tesla List and the Tesla 21st Century Education Modules will expand the data sets of the software. Our far reaching public and private partnerships will assure that women and underserved communities are given the exposure and opportunities needed for economic mobility in the 4th stage of the Industrial Revolution.
